JonesyFish is the 2006 GPL Champion

JonesyFish (Aaron Jones) managed to hold off a fearsome late challenge from dumpapp2 (Dennis Runge) to claim $3000 1st prize and a Sponsorship contract in 2007. We also announce that we have our 1st Female monthly winner when alomar took the Demeber league.

(PRWEB) January 2, 2007 -- Whilst many were partying, the GPL was reaching an exciting climax.

It become clear that nobody was going to catch Jonesy 2 days ago, but there was still everything to play for in the monthly league.

alomar from Canada had lead pretty much from the beginning of the month, and managed to hold on by a few points from the surging JonesyFish.

Jonesy has to settle for $750 in the monthly, but claims Top honours of $3000 in the annual, and assured that he will accompany TEAM GPL as one of their sponsored players in 2007.

Team GPL will now therefore comprise Aaron Jones (GPL Winner), Colin Hawker and their Celeb player, former England Cricketer Ed Giddins. The 1st event the team will be attending will be the Dom Classics in Holland at the end of January.

There was also further success for GPL players with virtually all the Top 20 in both the annual and monthly leagues being occupied by GPL players.

Colin Hawker, GPL Marketing Director had the following to say. "I am gob smacked at how competitive our league has become, when we begun 10 months ago, I never imagined our players staying in New Years Eve to work on their placings!"

Colin went on to offer congratulations to both the winners and also added "It's going to be great fun with Jonesy and the rest of the gang next year. In 2007 we really intend on letting the whole world know about the GPL. Now is probably the best time to join the GPL. Our leagues were reset at the stroke the New Year begun, and in 2007 we have increased our prize fund to $75,000 and will reward 50 players every month and 100 at the end of the year. Our league is the biggest multi room league and membership is Free!"
