The CEI Platform directly supports several CEA member initiatives, such as simplifying connectivity, reducing returns and providing consumer education.
New York, N.Y (PRWEB) January 5, 2007
CE Interactive, a New York based software and services company, today announced a strategic partnership and investment by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). CE Interactive has been developing an "industry platform" that helps consumer electronics (CE) retailers, manufacturers and service providers improve the CE experience for their customers. CE Interactive is the latest venture by consumer electronics industry veteran and entrepreneur Dean Summers, founder and former president of Partsearch Technologies.
"We are excited to have CEA as an investor and strategic partner," said Dean Summers, founder and CEO, CE Interactive. "Innovation in services has not kept pace with product innovation, and this alliance is representative of a strong commitment from CEA to provide the best possible customer experience; before, during and after the sale."
Under the partnership, CEA will provide assistance in obtaining original equipment manufacturer (OEM) data, as well as valuable technical resources and promotion of the CE Interactive platform to CEA member companies as an industry solution.
"Our partnership with CE Interactive represents our commitment to support the industry with initiatives that enhance the customer's consumer electronics experience," said Todd Thibodeaux, senior vice president of industry relations, CEA. "The CEI Platform directly supports several CEA member initiatives, such as simplifying connectivity, reducing returns and providing consumer education."
Last year at the 2006 International CES®, which is produced by CEA, CE Interactive demonstrated its "Virtuoso" application. Virtuoso utilizes OEM product attributes to identify specific cables and peripherals required to set up components, and a brand and model specific connectivity roadmap ensuring proper system setup. The system is designed to reduce "no fault found" product returns, ensure correct accessory "bundling," simplify connectivity and improve the customer experience.
