Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 5, 2007 -- The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that Noel M. Tichy, Ph.D., Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at the Ross School of Business and renowned leadership expert, will be a keynote speaker at HCI's 2007 National Human Capital Summit, to be held in Phoenix March 19-21.

Day two of the Summit, Tichy will deliver the Talent Keynote: "Building the Learning-Centered/Global-Centered Organization."

The presentation will explore what it means to be learning-centered and what change it requires. Tichy will address how to identify stakeholders and involve them in the change process, and how to build and sustain commitment to the vision of a learning-centered institution. Additionally, he will highlight the skills needed in a learning-centered environment, identify obstacles and ways to overcome them, and provide tools to measure, monitor, and recognize progress.

"All change happens at the individual not the organizational level, and requires the involvement, commitment, and skill development of all key stakeholders," said Allan Schweyer, HCI's President & Executive Director. "Noel Tichy, a pioneer in the leadership field, continues to create new models that continue to transform the business landscape."

Dr. Noel M. Tichy is Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he is Director of the Global Business Partnership, an international consortium for research and executive development. For more than a decade, the Partnership ran the Global Leadership Program, a 36-company consortium of Japanese, European, and North American companies that partnered to develop senior executives and conduct action research on globalization in China, India, Russia, and Brazil. Tichy now heads up the Global Leadership in Healthcare Program, working with CEOs and their senior teams from major medical centers in the U.S. along with teams in Europe and India. He also conducts the Cycle of Leadership executive program at the University of Michigan. Most recently, he led the launch of the Global Corporate Citizenship initiative in partnership with
General Electric and Procter & Gamble, designed to create a national model for partnership between business and society emphasizing free enterprise and democratic principles.

Noel Tichy consults widely in the private and public sectors and is a senior partner in Action Learning Associates. His clients have included Best Buy, GE, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, General Motors, Nokia, Nomura Securities, 3M, Daimler-Benz, and Royal Dutch Shell.

In the mid 1980s, Dr. Tichy was head of GE's Leadership Center, the famed Crotonville, where he led the transformation to action learning.

Noel M. Tichy is the author of numerous books; among these are, "The Ethical Challenge: How to Lead with Unyielding Integrity" (co-authored with Andrew McGill); "The Cycle of Leadership: How Great Leaders Teach Their Organizations to Win" (co-authored with Nancy Cardwell); and "Every Business Is a Growth Business: How Your Company Can Prosper Year After Year (with Ram Charan).
