Placerville, CA (PRWEB) January 6, 2007
It may not be rattlesnake season yet, but one snake handler isn't rattled about his future. Since starting Humane Rattlesnake Removal Service (http://www.humanerattlesnake.com) five years ago, Mike Meissbach has slowly and steadily grown the business into a full time occupation.
"I'm not getting rich yet by any means, but it is satisfying seeing my revenue grow," says Meissbach who watched his profit climb from $4,000 in 2005 to $10,000 in 2006. "Hopefully the pace continues."
In the past, many folks did not know a service such as Humane Rattlesnake Removal Service existed so they might have tried to remove a rattlesnake themselves. So Meissbach's biggest challenge is awareness. "I can attribute much of my growth to the Internet - having a Web site and advertising my services online," Meissbach explains. "In addition to helping many more residential customers, I've also been able to pick up some business accounts that I service on a regular basis."
Rattlesnake sightings typically increase during spring in Northern California. Meissbach will safely remove rattlesnakes from homes and businesses and then he humanely releases them back to the wild - safely away from populated areas. This may seem like a dangerous job to most people, but Meissbach always has safety in mind. "I learned to have respect for rattlesnakes and to give them their space," he said.
