Family Digest Media Group, Inc. announced today that Family Digest, Black America's No. 1 Family & Relationship Magazine, will launch a digital edition beginning with its April 2007 issue. Digital copies of the popular magazine will be delivered to readers via the Internet through a download to a PC, laptop or Mac.
"Family Digest -- now in our 11th year of publishing -- is moving to a digital format that combines the familiar look and feel of the magazine with the enhanced functionality of electronic content. "The millions of Black consumers around the world who consider Family Digest to be the gold standard for information and events for Black families and adults will welcome our digital edition."
Longtime Family Digest reader LT Mullins said, "I have always enjoyed the magazine. But I really love it even more now because my issue gets delivered to me by email. I can read it when I want. I can download it to keep. And the ads have sound! I can even click on links in the articles and ads and get more info when I want. It's just better!"
It's also better for advertisers. Imagine these examples -- Readers scroll over an SUV ad and zoom-in to see the color. Point to a feature of the vehicle and see available options. Click on the nameplate and hear the engine. See/hear the re-purposed TV ad. Then click on the weblink to connect with a dealer or get more information. An ad in Family Digest Magazine for a movie or a new record album can allow readers to see the movie trailer or hear the new song. A vacation ad could include a video tour of the destination. Advertisers will be able to include response generating digital BRCs, Cover Wraps, and Gatefolds (just as with print magazines) in their ads, if desired.
Family Digest receives more than 4,000 unsolicited letters each month from readers. This incredible demand for information from, and contact with, Family Digest and the Family Digest TV Show demonstrate a level of reader engagement that demands a quicker and more modern way of responding. Family Digest Magazine's rate base will increase from 400,000 to 600,000 effective with the April 2007 issue.
