New release includes more powerful capture features, collaboration capability, and a completely redesigned user interface.

Solid Documents, LLC is pleased to announce the release of the newly redesigned Solid Capture version 3.0. Solid Capture is a simple yet robust screen capture and image management toolkit that allows users to easily capture virtually anything on their computer screen in both image and text format. In addition, users can import existing images into Solid Capture from folders, editors, and even their Web browser using drag-and-drop. The new Solid Capture provides tools that allow users to intuitively edit, save, and share their captures.

"Our philosophy has always been to keep it simple," said Michael Cartwright, founder and CEO of Solid Documents. "The new Solid Capture introduces an array of powerful new features that produce professional results while maintaining our philosophy of simplicity and ease of use."

The new version of Solid Capture contains the following new features:

Text Capture - This tool allows the user to draw a rectangle around any region of the computer screen. Text inside the rectangle is then extracted to the clipboard in plain text format.

Window Ruler - This measuring tool displays on the screen and resembles an actual ruler. Users can move it anywhere on the screen to measure anything on the screen in pixels, horizontally or vertically.

Rectangle Capture with Frame - Similar to the window ruler, the resizable frame allows the user to specify the exact dimensions of a region of the screen before capturing it. The frame is partially transparent so the user can view the screen while selecting the capture area.

Create a PDF - With the click of a button, users can create a new PDF file using one or more captures.

Print - An intuitive print dialog provides simple formatting and layout options to ensure the perfect print, along with a header/footer option.

Edit - Users can export their screen captures straight to their favorite image editing programs with the click of a button.

E-mail - Solid Capture's e-mail feature allows users to place their captures into an e-mail, include captures as attachments, embed captures directly into the body of an e-mail, or place captures in a new PDF file that is attached to the e-mail.

Extract and Edit Text - Users can revisit earlier screen captures and extract text out of the image. They can then send that text to a text editor if they choose.

Redesigned Interface - Solid Capture's new design allows for easy access to all of the capture features as well as a "filmstrip" containing the user's captures for easy selection and organization. In addition, a preview window displays the highlighted thumbnail.

The new Solid Capture also has the same great features as before:

Full Screen Capture - Captures the entire screen as a single image. Users who have multiple monitors have the option to capture both monitors as a single image.

Window Capture - Captures a whole window, a portion of a window such as a menu or toolbar, multiple windows, or drop-down menus.

Rectangle Capture - Allows the user to draw a rectangle of any size around any portion of the screen to capture everything inside.

Color Capture - Turns the mouse pointer into a magnifier that allows the user to zoom into anything on the screen right down to a single pixel. With a single click of the mouse, the color of that pixel is captured and stored in the clipboard for later use.

Resize - Resizes a highlighted window to fit a specified resolution setting thus giving the user an opportunity to simulate a window's appearance in a different resolution. This feature is particularly useful for programmers and Web site developers.
