Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) January 10, 2007
Security developer CyberDefender Corporation (http://www.cyberdefender.com) today announced that along with the launch of its Early Detection Center 2.0 that all direct sales proceeds from the first 30 days of Early Detection Center will be donated to the James Kim Memorial Fund.
This program was established by CyberDefender to honor CNET Senior Editor James Kim, who died tragically trying to save his family in the rugged wilderness of Oregon this past December. CyberDefender hopes the money raised will help accomplish Kim's most important mission, taking care of his wife Kati Kim, and the couple's two daughters, Penelope, four, and Sabine, seven months. "Our family has really been moved by the outpouring of support that we have received. This contribution is so heartwarming and a very touching example of the impact James had on a lot of people. I would like to thank the CyberDefender team, specifically Alan Wallace and Gary Guseinov, for their support during this difficult time," said Kati Kim.
"Mr. Kim's sudden passing is a reminder to us all of how important life and family is," said Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications Alan Wallace, who was a friend of James Kim. "And, as James honored us all with his sense of purpose, we now honor him and his family with an award that we hope will carry on his sole mission - to care for his family. I also want to personally thank our Chief Executive Officer Gary Guseinov for making this contribution possible," continued Wallace. "Gary knew how concerned I was when I learned the news that he and his family were missing and of course my feelings towards his passing. I was extremely pleased when Gary took the liberty to initiate this program to aid this family."
Officially launching at Showstoppers during CES/Las Vegas on January 8, 2007, the Early Detection Center is CyberDefender's ad-free Internet security suite designed to provide rapid detection and protection against the latest fast-moving online security threats. It finds infections other security software misses, catching spyware, viruses, phishing attempts and other malicious attacks much earlier in the cycle, while providing security updates faster than other solutions. Early Detection Center takes advantage of CyberDefender's patent-pending earlyNETWORK™, the world's first client-to-client distributed system for security updates, which achieves significantly earlier detection and immunization on PCs, while also working in conjunction with other security software. The Early Detection Center suite is available by subscription only. The yearly single subscription price is $11.99, or $39.95 for five licenses.
