Park West Gallery Presents Art Collection of Jeaneen Barnhart

Jeaneen Barnhart takes the lost art of drawing and presents elegance of line and form that Park West Gallery visitors can experience for themselves.

(PRWEB) January 16, 2007 -- Park West Gallery Artist Biography series invites the public to into the extensive repertoire of Jeaneen Barnhart. It begins with innate talent and formal training. Then a keen sense of observation and inquiry along with the hours of practice until the eye and hand work together with fluidity. Drawing--the lost skill. For an artist that draws with pencil, pastel, charcoal and any other means of layering line on paper, her daily practice and patience produce works of such natural gesture that they need nothing more to be complete.

Jeaneen Barnhart is dedicated to the art of drawing on paper, creating works with such diverse line and texture taking on their own dimension. Equine Studies, Male Torsos, Sensual Nudes and Loving Couples encompass her extensive repertoire. Although painting is secondary, successful canvases depict similar qualities of classic drawing style and spirited movement. Her exploration with oil painting continues working with a variety of subject matter including her Full-Bodied Wine series, Tulips, Sunflowers, Equine and the Figure.

A Florida native, Jeaneen started painting at an early age along with her twin sister, Doreen. Coming from a family of artists: with devoted parents educating the twins on all aspects of technical drawing skills and grandparents whom range from professional musicians, songwriters to a comic book illustrator. It was a natural progression for the sisters to look to the arts.

After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts painting degree to Alfred University in 1992, Jeaneen joined her sister in Louisville where they currently reside and continue to collaborate on many local and very notable projects. Soon after the move, Barnhart's figure paintings created an impact on Louisville's nouveau art scene, which led to print and poster commissions for: 1994/1997 Kentucky Derby Festival, PGA Golf Experience, 1999 St James Court Art Show and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Ball Identity. She has also published several successful posters of her original works. Gallery exhibits include New York, Florida, California and Kentucky, where her studio is located.

Jeaneen's studio sits on the rooftop of the Mellwood Art & Entertainment Center serving its purpose for required seclusion, yet accessibility of her Louisville clientele.
