Brigham Young University Enlists PilmerPR President in Evening Faculty

John Pilmer, founder and president of PilmerPR, has accepted a position as part-time evening faculty in the Communications Department at Brigham Young University (BYU).

John Pilmer, founder and president of PilmerPR, has accepted a position as part-time evening faculty in the Communications Department at Brigham Young University (BYU). Starting in January, he will teach Communications 421, an advanced public relations writing class required for graduation. Mr. Pilmer will instruct students in the writing of press releases, case studies, brochures, speeches and media pitches.

"Mr. Pilmer's vast experience in the public relations industry and his leadership in our community will provide a good mentoring experience for our students. His high standards will also push the students to work at a professional level and be prepared for the high demands of the public relations industry."

John Pilmer has more than 20 years of related experience in marketing and public relations serving such companies as Novell, Certiport, ComputerLand, and Altiris. Founder and senior advisor for Wasatch Front based PilmerPR (http://www.pilmerpr.com), he will continue as President helping businesses reach strategic marketing and public relations objectives. Pilmer is one of only 6,000 active PR professionals Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by the Universal Accreditation Board, serving 10 PR organizations including the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Pilmer holds an undergraduate Business Degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Utah.
