American Associates, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (AABGU) announced today that it had been awarded the highly coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator (http://www.charitynavigator.org), the leading nonprofit organization evaluation group.

Charity Navigator ranks more than 5,000 of the most prominent American charities based on their efficiency to manage and grow their finances, and their proportion of overhead expenses to program services, providing donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make. Fewer than 25 percent of the charities it evaluates, including many Israeli institutions, receive the highest rating.

A letter from Charity Navigator President Trent Stamp to AABGU stated that, "AABGU outperforms the majority of nonprofits in America ... This 'exceptional' designation from Charity Navigator differentiates the organization from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."

AABGU Executive Vice President Amos Drory said, "Charity navigator is the gold standard for philanthropists who carefully research the organizations they plan to support as well as for individual donors who want to know that the highest amount of their donation dollar goes directly to University programs and initiatives. Our entire organization is proud of this outstanding recognition in our effort to support a world-class institution of research and education in the Negev desert."
