i-911™ VoIP Emergency Call Routing Solution Honored for Outstanding Innovation

HBF Group, Inc. announced today that their Enhanced 9-1-1 VoIP solution, i-911™, has received a 2006 Product of the Year Award from Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC®)Internet Telephony magazine.

HBF's i-911 VoIP solution provides FCC and CRTC compliant enhanced 9-1-1 call routing and handling for VoIP service providers and Enterprises utilizing an IP/PBX system. One of the unique features of i-911 that sets it apart from other solutions is a "One Step" aspect of the call interaction and services.

As opposed to other solutions that require the provider's soft switch to send multiple messages during a 9-1-1 call, HBF's solution requires just one SIP Invite to the i-911 VoIP Positioning Center platform. The all-inclusive i-911 platform takes the call from there, providing address validation, routing determination and integrated call delivery to the correct Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The "One Step" simplifies the emergency call process allowing providers to simply hand the call off to i-911 with the assurance that the call will be accurately and quickly routed and responded to by a PSAP.
