Ariadne Facilitates Pathway Research in Plants ResNet Plant Database for Pathway Studio is Available

Ariadne Genomics, Inc. have launched the ResNet Plant Database for interaction and pathway analysis in plants. ResNet Plant consists of functional relationships extracted from plant-related PubMed abstracts and articles, and includes information on seven well-studied plants: Arabidopsis, Rice, Barley, Corn, Tomato, Potato, and Tobacco. The ResNet Plant Database is a part of Ariadne Pathway Studio® pathway analysis software.

ResNet Plant consists of functional relationships extracted from plant-related PubMed abstracts and articles, and includes information on seven well-studied plants: Arabidopsis, Rice, Barley, Corn, Tomato, Potato, and Tobacco. The ResNet Plant Database is a part of Ariadne Pathway Studio® pathway analysis software.

ResNet Plant database, compiled with Ariadne state-of-the-art MedScan Technology, includes over 70,000 molecular interactions and relations, extracted from 72,000 plant-specific PubMed abstracts and four full-text plant research journals. In addition, 382,000-sentence co-occurrence facts for plant proteins are available. All relations in the database are linked to and supported by the original abstracts or articles.

"Pathway Studio with ResNet Plant Database will enable researchers to identify relationships among proteins, small molecules, and cell processes; to look at for example regulation by plant hormones and the effects of different environmental conditions on small molecule and metabolite synthesis", said Magnolia Ariza-Nieto Ph.D., US Plant, Soil and Nutrition Lab, Cornell University. "I think ResNet Plant is very good, probably the best in the market at this point since it can be frequently updated".

"Now, after the data has been transformed by statistical analysis, researchers can use Pathway Studio and ResNet Plant knowledge base as the next step in high throughput data analysis to put the experimental data into a biological context."
