The Globalization and Localization of Business Exports (GLOBE) Center of the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) and the Globalisation Management Strategies Group (GMSG) have come together to produce this single track conference, which has the fundamental objective to combine theory with practice to encourage a high level of participation and interaction. Leading academic scholars will present alongside seasoned professionals to further knowledge of global business, with 100% of audience participation throughout the 2 day event.

Based on the World Cafe model of participant interaction, rather than the usual lecture format, attendees will be expected to participate fully in discussions, creating a stimulating "mind-mapping" experience for all. This conference will gather a new cadre of professionals who wish to influence the way people look at international business.

GMSC 2007 is not an academic conference for looking at new standardisation-adaptation research, nor a localisation practitioner conference for looking at new localisation technologies, processes or trends. It is a conference that combines the best of academic theory and industry practice and that looks at localisation as a strategic management issue. Speakers and panelists have been carefully selected to address key topics. To learn more about GMSC 2007, please see: http://www.globalisation.org/index.html

GMSC 2007 is proud to announce that its keynote speaker will be the renowned George Yip, Vice President, Director of Research & Innovation, Capgemini Consulting, U.K. He previously held professorships at London Business School, UCLA, Cambridge University, and Harvard Business School, and visiting positions at Stanford and Oxford. He is also the best selling author of "Total Global Strategy: Managing for Worldwide Competitive Advantage", "Total Global Strategy II: Updated for the Internet and Service Era", "Asian Advantage: Key Strategies for Winning in the Asia-Pacific Region", and "Barriers to Entry: a Corporate-Strategy Perspective

Other program highlights include presentations by well known authorities from Accenture, Oracle Corporation, California State University (Chico), Boston College, Lehrmach, Monterey Institute of International Studies, Tatum LLC, and University of California Digital Library. As the conference will take place in beautiful Monterey, it is fitting that the group will enjoy a visit to the Monterey Institute Campus during the course of the conference and experience a truly local event of real time interpretation of our keynote address into four different languages.

Dean Ernest Scalberg, Director of the GLOBE Center at the Monterey Institute, stated: "We are extremely pleased with the caliber of speakers and the topics that will be presented at the Conference. The interactive format will provide many interesting insights for all of us about localisation across the entire business process."

GMSC anticipates the audience to represent a distinct group of both academic scholars and industry professionals who have an interest in global management. Other groups may include consultants, government officials, as well as independent research organisations, concerned with international business.
