Media Wombo introduces new website for easy and affordable online media buying with real-time buying options.

Media Wombo launched in November 2006 is designed to be a bigger, better way to buy media advertising. The concept, developed by founder and president, Kathy Smith, arose out of her personal difficulties in getting media rates.

The word "wombo" in the urban dictionary reads "the act of doing things in a much larger and better way. "Media and Marketing Managers have wasted years of their lives and lost millions of dollars in opportunity, waiting for faxes for media advertising rates from TV or Radio stations," says Smith. "Often times multiple calls are placed, just trying to connect with the correct person in the correct department. After spending much energy to get the fax with the available times and rates, the frequent response is that the media selections are no longer available, that the rates have changed, or that a premium rate is now necessary in order to pre-empt what is already in place. Sometimes the process has to be started completely over again. It was too much tedium just to place a simple commercial on the air."

Smith came to the conclusion that the process of buying media had become too difficult, and Media Wombo was born.

The site makes media buying, planning and placement easy and affordable by offering the user lots of real-time buying options, available at a glance, with rates that are honest and upfront. Now, educated media buyers - who know their budget and even a little about their target audience - can log on from the convenience of any PC with web access and buy media advertising time or space in the categories of television (cable, broadcast or satellite), radio, print (newspaper or magazine), Internet, and billboards and beyond (from transit shelters to mall kiosks).

"There are still a few TV executives that think all rates should be negotiated, and that they will not post rates because their existing clients might get upset," remarks Smith. "However, most media companies have been very receptive and admit that this is the way of the future."
