Drexel University Online Launches Certificate in Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene

Drexel University Online, a pioneer in Internet-based education programs and winner of the 2006 21st Century Best Practice Award for Distance Learning from the U.S. Distance Learning Association launched an online Certificate in Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) January 19, 2007 -- Drexel University Online, a pioneer in Internet-based education programs and winner of the 2006 21st Century Best Practice Award for Distance Learning from the U.S. Distance Learning Association launched an online Certificate in Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene.

The online Certificate in Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene is a four-course program specifically designed for students at the post-baccalaureate level in industrial or governmental settings. "The program content provides a strong foundation in both toxicology and industrial hygiene to enhance the student's "on-the-job" performance in the areas of health and safety," said Dr. Dona Huggins, Director of the Online Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene program.

Toxicology, the study of the adverse affects of chemicals foreign to the biological system, is an ever-expanding field assimilating knowledge and techniques from branches of biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics. Industrial hygiene is the science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being or discomfort among workers or citizens of the community.

"We're very proud to offer our students the outstanding Drexel curriculum within this convenient online format. All of our online programs - including our new Online Certificate in Toxicology and Industrial Hygiene - are taught by the same world-renowned faculty and offer the same well-respected credentials as our on-campus courses," said Dr. Ken Hartman, Academic Director of Drexel University Online.

Applications for Drexel's online Certificate in Toxicology and Hygiene are now being accepted. The next term begins in April 2007 with a February 22, 2007 application deadline. For more information about this online program, visit the Drexel Online website or call (877) 215-0009.
