Mammography at Good Samaritan Hospital Scores 100% in Surprise New York State DOH Inspection
The Department of Radiology and The Women's Health Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y., received a perfect score in a recent New York State Department of Health surprise inspection of the hospital's Mammography equipment, achieving a perfect 100% score.
Suffern, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 19, 2007 -- The Department of Radiology and The Women's Health Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y., received a perfect score in a recent New York State Department of Health surprise inspection of the hospital's Mammography equipment, achieving a perfect 100% score.
The objective of the state's mammography inspection program is to support patient safety, continuous improvement, and to promote clinical and diagnostic excellence. The equipment was evaluated and inspected by DOH personnel as a part of their unscheduled inspection process for hospitals and other healthcare facilities that provide mammography services. The inspection consisted of both a document review as well as a thorough evaluation of the equipment.

The hospital's mammography services are under the direction of the Department of Radiology. The program also recently achieved a perfect 100% rating from the United States FDA in its annual Mammography Quality Standards Act inspection, as well as a 100% score from the New York State DOH in its evaluation of stereotactic breast biopsy.
