Best Western Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites Shares Business of the Year Honors in Glen Rose, TX

The Glen Rose Chamber of Commerce in Glen Rose, TX has recognized the Best Western Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites as 2006 Co-Business of the Year, along with the Glen Rose Medical Center, for Medium to Large sized businesses

(PRWEB) January 19, 2007 -- The Glen Rose Chamber of Commerce in Glen Rose, TX has recognized the Best Western Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites as 2006 Co-Business of the Year, along with the Glen Rose Medical Center, for Medium to Large sized businesses.

"We are extremely honored to have been given this recognition. It truly validates all of the hard work and effort our staff puts into this hotel and the entire Glen Rose area. They say the company you keep is a reflection upon yourself, well to be in the same company as a state of the art medical facility like the Glen Rose Medical Center is a great honor," states Stan Firebaugh, from Carrollton, TX, owner of Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites, LLC

The honor was voted on by chamber members and took into account various community activities and involvements from the past year.

The hotel kicked off 2006 by hosting an "After Hours" Mixer for the town where they unveiled 3 historical murals that were painted on the hotel's walls by famed western artist Stylle Read. Each mural was a commemoration to the towns past and drew a great response from citizens of Glen Rose and the surrounding area.

They continued their effort in the community by hosting an Appreciation Reception for the Glen Rose Rodeo Association and sponsoring numerous community programs and events such as the Chamber "Casino Night", Glen Rose Little Dribblers Basketball Team, Easter Children's Fun Festival and the American Cancer Association Relay for Life where they also provided bottled water and coffee.

In addition to its sponsorship activities, the Best Western Dinosaur Valley Inn and Suites also provided gift certificates for fundraisers, staffed a rest station for the Paluxy Pedal, which is a large bicycle race, and brought Santa Claus to Glen Rose for the third consecutive year.

"2006 was a great year for our hotel and the Glen Rose community. We look forward to bigger and better things in '07," adds Mr. Firebaugh.

About Glen Rose
As the Gateway to the Texas Hill Country, Glen Rose, long known as the Dinosaur Capitol of Texas and more recently as Dream Town USA 2004, is a popular travel destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The town is home to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, which is one of the most progressive conservation and education centers in the United States. Also located in Glen Rose is the famous Dinosaur Valley State Park. The park boasts some of the most impressive dinosaur tracks in the world along with other dinosaur fossils and relics. The park is also very popular among mountain bikers due to its rocky terrain and scenic views. Winding through the town are two rivers, Brazos and Paluxy, that draw thousands of people a year for canoeing, kayaking and tubing. Glen Rose also holds historical significance. Its courthouse is one of a handful in Texas that was built during the Golden Era and attracts history buffs from all over the state. Aside from the popular attractions, visitors to Glen Rose are treated to excellent food and music from the likes of the nationally recognized Two Grannies Down Home Cookin' and the musical stylings of the Warm Country Heart Theatre.
