BRYN MAWR, PA (PRWEB) January 19, 2007 -- The American College, the nation's leading financial services educator, will celebrate its annual event, National Financial Awareness Day, on Tuesday, March 6, 2007. This national initiative is designed to enhance consumers' financial security. This year's theme focuses on the importance of disability income protection. American College graduates will provide consumers nationwide with the opportunity to learn more about their personal finances by answering questions, offering informational seminars, and providing free individual counseling in an effort to increase awareness of the importance of financial planning. This year's focus will help consumers become more aware of the need to secure their income against unexpected life events.
Activities associated with National Financial Awareness Day are being offered as a free public service and are designed to help individuals create a lifetime of financial security.
"Disability income insurance is essential income protection," said Larry Barton, PhD., President and Chief Executive Officer of The American College. "Disabilities can be serious financial setbacks. The average person doesn't fully appreciate how a debilitating injury can impact one's ability to meet everyday expenses."

This annual event coincides with what would have been the 125th birthday of The American College founder, Solomon S. Huebner. Dr. Huebner was a renowned financial educator whose theories about the human life value concept revolutionized the financial services industry.
