Illinois House Bill 2137, the first major reform to the Illinois workers' comp system in over 20 years, was enacted with the goals to control skyrocketing workers' comp costs for employers, fight workers' comp fraud, and improve workers' comp benefits for employees. One year after its implementation, has House Bill 2137 delivered on its promise? Has there been a cost savings to employers or an improvement in the climate for business growth in Illinois? Join us at the Illinois Workers' Comp Forum 2007 where Senator Kwame Raoul will address the successes and failures of HB 2137 and how the remaining challenges can be dealt with by the legislature.
