Realtors Leading the Way in Web Video

Realtors top the industry sectors using streaming video to increase sales on their websites according to a survey by European company who provide quality streaming video hosting for consumers and small businesses.

Until recently most realtors relied on expensive iPix type services to showcase homes, but now a huge increase in the use of online video has seen realtors and estate agents choosing to create higher quality streaming videos of properties to attract interest online. Debi Neisess of The Nicest Realtors, a US based independent realtor, is a streaming video convert; "We have been using streaming videos for approximately one and a half years now and have been really pleased with the quality and the cost. One of our property listings had over 1000 online viewings, making for a very quick sale".

The survey reports that of all the business sectors using Mydeo's streaming video services, Realtors showed the most growth and hold top spot for 2006. Other performing small business segments reflect the breadth of take up in online video services; Corporate training, Infomercials and Preachers make up the rest of the top four.

Producing good quality movies requires some skill though, but it seems the Realtors have found a cost effective solution to this problem too. Within the realtor segment the survey found that over 80% using the service are instead opting to stream photo slideshows with audio or text commentary created using software like Windows MovieMaker or Photostory 3 - both free to download from Microsoft.

"We have seen a huge uptake of our service by Realtors in the past few months" commented Cary Marsh, CEO and founder of Mydeo. "High quality streaming video used to be cost-prohibitive for small businesses, but we make it very simple and affordable. When you can get a years' hosting for only $63 and consider the return for realtors it makes perfect sense.

It's just one of the business sectors where we are seeing video becoming prevalent as a means of delivering complex messages and selling high value goods and services. The huge growth in the consumption of ad-supported video on other sites is driving user expectation and a business need for a more professional service - we hope we can continue to meet those needs".
