NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2007
The former three-star Bentley and Marcel Hotels in midtown Manhattan are being repositioned as four-star properties, according to George G. Dfouni, chief operating officer, Amsterdam Hospitality.
The Bentley, located at 500 E. 62nd St. (at York Avenue), on Manhattan's chic Upper East Side, is a few blocks from Bloomingdale's department store, with stunning views of the city and the East River. Rooms and lobby are newly renovated, with a modern, sleek style. Work is in progress, with new furniture, carpeting and lamps being added to the guest rooms. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant (cocktails and dinner only), 24-hour concierge and on-site parking.
In-room features include marble bathrooms, new Frette linens, mini bars, wireless Internet connection (for a minimal fee), and two-line telephones with data ports. New 32-inch high definition televisons and room service will be added soon.
"To reposition the Bentley and Marcel as four-star hotels, we have improved service, added staff, and made significant upgrades to the guest rooms. Among the unique features at our hotels are complimentary cappuccino, guaranteed bed types, and no cancellation fees. We also have a Rate Guarantee Campaign that ensures a guaranteed rate for frequent guests. To qualify, guests must stay at any of our hotels at least three different times within a month. We take the average rate of those three stays, and guarantee that exclusive rate on future stays for the rest of the year. The guaranteed rates apply only to reservations made directly with the hotel, or on our website, http://www.nychotels.com," Dfouni says.
Located at 201 E. 24th Street (at Third Avenue), The Marcel is also being upgraded to a four-star hotel. It is convenient to Gramercy Park, the Flatiron District, Chelsea art galleries and New York's garment center. "We have added 50 new rooms to this stylish hotel. Guest rooms have high ceilings and average 255 square feet, quite large for New York. Furniture is custom-made, bathrooms have spa-like showers, and guests can enjoy complimentary cappuccino at any time," Dfouni says.
In-room features include Frette linens, CD player, two phone lines with data ports and voicemail, and on-demand movies. Room service will be added soon.
The company's Amsterdam Hospitality Club provides members with expedited check-in, free weekday newspaper, free stays for spouses, and late check-out on request.
Rates at the Bentley and Marcel during March 2007 start at $299 per room, per night. Check the website, http://www.nychotels.com, for the best rates.
The Amsterdam Hospitality Group manages and operates properties in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Charlotte, North Carolina, including five properties in New York City.
