CodeRyte, Inc.’s computer-assisted healthcare coding software has been named a finalist for the 22nd Annual Codie Awards by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) in the Best Healthcare Management Solution and Best Distributed Computing Solution categories.
The Codie Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information, and education technology industries. Independent members of the trade press and information technology community reviewed more than 1,200 nominations from 600 different companies. They narrowed the field to 367 finalists in 72 categories. Winners will be announced April 17 during the SIIA Software Strategy Summit, Ed Tech Industry Summit and Content Forum.
“We are very proud to receive this honor from a prestigious organization like SIIA,” remarked Andy Kapit, CEO of CodeRyte, Inc. “CodeRyte’s software tremendously improves our client’s revenue-cycle efficiency and compliance monitoring ability. Word of our success is getting out. The volume of notes running through our engine nearly tripled in 2006. This recognition shows that it’s not just our customers who have noticed our success in the market.”
CodeRyte’s product uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology and a sophisticated workflow to facilitate the medical coding process. The CodeRyte coding engine analyzes language patterns and determines correct relationships among the key concepts it extracts to select medical codes that maximize appropriate reimbursement. By analyzing the complete text of every report, the software frequently identifies additional billable procedures that might otherwise have been missed leading to an appropriate increase in insurance reimbursement. CodeRyte increases compliance by limiting its analysis to only the facts in the medical record and applying the most up-to-date coding standards in a highly consistent manner.
“The 2007 Codie finalists represent real winners, even at this stage of the contest,” explained Ken Wasch, president of SIIA. “Competition is fiercer than ever, and that makes selection as a Codie Finalist a real achievement. All the companies on this year’s list should feel justifiably proud of their recognition.”
CodeRyte’s Web-enabled workflow makes it easy for coding managers to direct, manage, and measure work to maximize coder productivity and consistency. It also supports remote coding, which leads to significant increases in coder job satisfaction.
