Palm Beach Gardens, FL (PRWEB) February 3, 2007 -- 2young2retire: The Blog (http://2young2retire.com/wp/) created by Marika and Howard Stone, co-authors of Too Young to Retire: 101 Ways to Start the Rest of Your Life (Plume 2004), launched last week and came out swinging. Opening salvo: The Best Advice on Retirement: Don't!

"Retirement," say the Stones, "is just so 20th Century!" Instead, the authors offer guidance and help to 50-, 60- and 70-somethings who see a bigger future for themselves than full-time leisure. Their website, 2young2retire.com, has been in the vanguard of contrarian thinking about aging and retirement since 1998.

"We get steamed up at these patronizing articles about baby boomers and their money that have been proliferating lately," said Howard Stone. "2young2retire -- The Blog intends to set the record straight. First, we completely reject the notion that Boomers are so addicted to their live-for-today choices that they can't adapt to changing circumstance. Second, if you lose the idea that retirement is inevitable, the whole picture changes. People who work longer at something they can sustain don't lose sleep over money. They are a lot healthier, too."

"The trailer park and cat food motif has been with us for long enough," said Marika Stone. "Scare tactics might work temporarily, but we believe that people are more intelligent than these reports suggest. They are also better off when they are reminded of their strengths and capabilities."

In 2006, 2young2retire launched a course based on the book, Too Young to Retire, and a companion workbook, Too Young to Retire: A Journal of Transition. The course helps people in transition to get clear about what is important to them and take action based on those insights.
