This Friday 2 February 2007 7:00pm Old Fort Hills & Potomac Knolls Residents To Hold Emergency Crime Meeting At Harmony Hall. Old Fort Hills Homeowners Association and Surrounding Neighborhoods will hold a community wide meeting to discuss the recent crime wave in the community. Elected Officials, Clergy, Business Owners and Law Enforcement Personnel have been invited to this meeting. Open area for discussion as well as question and answers.

(PRWEB) February 2, 2007 -- This Friday 2 February 2007 7pm at Harmony Hall, Fort Washington MD we will be meeting in reaction to what occurred in the community this weekend. We have recently suffered a horrific tragedy in our neighborhood. A good business owner was shot and senselessly killed and his brother was shot. Not only was this a total disregard for someone's life it is a total disregard and disrespect for anyone who is trying to make a better life for themselves and their family. We must feel sadness and outrage. We must react. It is time that the residents of Old Fort Hills and all neighboring Homeowners Association to take their community back.

Law Enforcement, Public Officials, Clergy and Business Owners have been invited to join residents on what can be done to protect our community inside and out. Some of the crimes have happened in broad daylight after school hours and others have occurred at various locations.

This meeting will allow residents of Fort Washington to come together and talk about what training is available and what we can do as residents to protect our community as well as recent demographic and social changes that have affected our neighborhood.

Some of the recent crimes besides the horrific shoots include break-ins, attacks, vandalism and trespassing. Some of these incidents can be easily remedied with increase vigilance and other awareness programs. We also need to find a way to rid the neighborhood of criminals and point the ones that need help to drug and substance abuse programs. We have to be cognizant of who we let into our home and community. We need to take the next step to get that drug dealer off the block. We need to pay attention to what is going on in our homes and our community. If we can get a hold of this then we can save Fort Washington. We cannot afford to let a murder go in any community much less where we live and work.

We are calling all interested parties to join the residents at this emergency meeting as we discuss ideas, training opportunities and a way ahead for improving our community and restoring the peace of mind and safety to our residents.

For more information please contact the Old Fort Hills Homeowners President, NJ King-Campbell. Make today the day we take our community back.

Together we can make a difference it only takes you.
