Hushka Promotes Philosophy for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Independence

Niles Hushka promotes "energy island" philosophy for renewable and sustainable energy independence at Senate Energy Committee conference in Washington, D.C.

Bismarck, ND (PRWEB) February 2, 2007 -- As the United States takes strides to become less dependent on fossil fuels, industry leaders involved in the production of biofuels assembled today at the Transportation Biofuels Conference hosted by the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in Washington, D.C. Niles Hushka, CEO of Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson and KLJ Solutions, was personally invited by Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., to speak because of his proactive approach in developing renewable and sustainable energy.

Today's emerging biofuels technologies can spur energy independence because we have the opportunity to create an energy efficient food and biofuels production model -- an American Energy Island
"Today's emerging biofuels technologies can spur energy independence because we have the opportunity to create an energy efficient food and biofuels production model -- an American Energy Island," Hushka said, author of Sustainable Biofuel Strategies for the Heartland. "By proactively moving forward we need to revamp our existing renewable energy and transportation technology and integrate emerging technologies to establish new industry standards."

"The effort to increase the production and use of biofuels is one of our top priorities, and I invited Niles to speak at this conference because he adds a lot to our conversation about how best to do that," said Sen. Dorgan. "The conversation we had today will help us chart a policy that will encourage the development of biofuels that help boost the economy of rural America, are better for our environment, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil."

Hushka authored Sustainable Biofuel Strategies for the Heartland to create immediate awareness about the long-term benefits of full energy islands. The concept of energy islands will unite entities to harvest every BTU from every product consumed. He has been working with local and national government officials to enrich communities' economic development efforts and enhance the energy island philosophy of total consumption through technology enhancements.

Many of the projects Hushka is actively working on include developing new technologies and models for biofuel plants; empowering US farmers and their local communities to be proactive and profit from these plants; sustain year round production; and utilize current agricultural and transportation facilities to expand profit margins and maintain development costs.

Earlier this month, Hushka presented to almost 40 North Dakota distinguished lawmakers and guests about concepts involving regional developments in biofuel and how these developments could change the structure of ND's economy and role in national renewable and sustainable energy production.

Accelerated biofuels diversity is a priority for Sen. Dorgan and the Senate Energy Committee. The purpose of the Transportation Biofuels Conference was to promote open communications about biofuels and to develop ideas about how to best support the growth of biofuels for transportation. Almost 30 different agencies and companies presented at this interactive conference.
