Revival Tests Thornberry's New Bi-Directional Telehealth Interface with AMC Monitors

Review patient data in context of patient record and eliminates need to enter data manually.

Lancaster, PA (PRWEB) February 7, 2007 -- Thornberry Ltd, developers of NDoc®, a home health software for home care agencies and hospice, announced the latest successful implementation of a new bi-directional telehealth interface solution for Revival Home Health Care, Inc. in New York.

Revival Home Health Care adopted Thornberry's electronic point-of-care charting and documentation software, NDoc, in June 2004. Revival further invested in IT by introducing telehealth monitoring from Advanced Monitored Caregiving (AMC) in January 2006. This allowed the agency to capture patient vital sign information. Revival received a grant for fifty telehealth monitoring systems and leased additional telehealth monitors.

Revival Home Health Care, Inc. recently asked Thornberry to design an interface that would allow the agency to "stream" its telehealth data directly into NDoc, its POC system so that clinicians could review patient data in the context of the patient electronic record.

Revival is now leading the industry with the use of Thornberry's new bi-directional telehealth interface that also feeds referral data to the telemonitoring system, eliminating the need to enter data in both systems. Right now Revival represents one home health agency of only about six percent that currently use telehealth, and an even smaller percentage of agencies that have integrated their telehealth and POC solutions.

Clinicians at Revival now have seamless access to patient data overnight on their laptops at home or via LAN based workstations at the agency offices, allowing more efficient scheduling of visits and more responsive care.

The new interface that works with monitoring equipment from Advanced Monitored Caregiving (AMC) is the second vendor-specific interface that Thornberry has designed. Several agencies, including Twin Tier in Vestal, NY and South Jersey HealthCare Homecare in Salem, NJ, are already using a telehealth interface that integrates NDoc with monitoring equipment from Honeywell HomMed.
