A native of Romania, Dr. Doina Dumitrescu-Ionescu has nearly three decades of experience in plastic surgery, much of that time having been spent as a successful reconstructive microsurgeon. She established and developed the reconstructive microsurgery department at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, and has since become a full professor and head of both the clinic and the department.
