Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) February 13, 2007 -- UtiliPoint® International, Inc. (UtiliPoint) announced the completion and release of its groundbreaking report on the European Energy Trading, Transaction and Risk Management (ETRM). This survey of European users of Energy Trading, Transaction and Risk Management (ETRM) software was conducted by UtiliPoint during November and December, 2006 and January 2007, and fifty valid responses to the survey instrument were collected. The fifty responses include a variety of ETRM users including utilities, merchant energy firms, end users, hedge funds, investment banks, generators and producers and recommending companies across the broader European Union. Responses were obtained either by interview or by completion of an internet-based version of the questionnaire.

There is as yet no single dominant supplier in European markets, instead it is still a 3- 5 horse race with OpenLink Financial, SunGard Energy, Global Energy, Allegro, and home-grown systems dominating the market. Other vendors are also well known in European markets including Triple Point, Sakonnet Technologies and, Navita. "The European ETRM software market is currently very dynamic and 50% of the respondents had procured software since 2004," reports Dr. Gary M. Vasey, VP, Europe for UtiliPoint. "What is even more apparent is that the level of demand for robust and reliable ETRM software solutions is set to explode in Europe in 2007."

The report includes new information on ETRM brand and product awareness, market leadership, installed base, market dynamics, buying criteria for ETRM software in Europe, buying habits and a comparison with North American ETRM software markets.

The European Study report is now available at UtiliPoint's website for purchase (http://www.utilipoint.com/rci/details.asp?ProductID=1142) for $1,995 USD.

The study was kindly sponsored by Allegro Development, Global Energy, Microgen, Sakonnet Technology, The Structure Group (UK) and SunGard Energy Solutions.
