About the Designer on the Streets Showcase
On The Streets is a virtual boutique within eBags.com that showcases undiscovered and emerging designers from across the United States. On the Streets will offer customers unique access to the collections of independent designers that include handbags, jewelry, hats, pins and scarves ranging in price from $30 to $500. On The Streets designers have the autonomy to create their own store within On The Streets, allowing them to showcase their product line as well as tell their own story in their own words.
About the Designer
The name, Bari J., comes from owner/designer, Bari Ackerman (her middle name is Jill). Designing handbags grew out of a lifetime love of fashion and surprisingly, a background in theatre. While a college theatre major in the late 80s, costume design was a constant draw, and her intrigue with accessory design began there. Years later, Bari turned her intrigue into a business. By 2005, Bari J. was successfully selling pieces to small boutiques around the San Francisco bay area and throughout the United States. Bari lives just outside San Francisco with her husband and two children.
