The Scooter Store Sponsors National Multiple Sclerosis Benefit Tour

A power wheelchair or scooter will be donated to a local resident at each MS concert event.

Braunfels, TX. (PRWEB) February 15, 2007 -- The SCOOTER Store announced today that it is title sponsor of the "Roger Neal and Friends Sing for MS Concert Series," which is performing Southern Gospel shows in 53 locations around the country this year and raising money to fight Multiple Sclerosis.

At each concert, The SCOOTER Store will also donate a power wheelchair or scooter to a local resident, who needs mobility assistance, but does not have the resources or insurance coverage to obtain one. The concert series, which began Friday in Savanna, Ga. and ends December 15 in St. Louis, will also donate a portion of the proceeds from each event to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

"We are proud to be the title sponsor of this magnificent concert series," said Doug Harrison, CEO and Founder of The SCOOTER Store, which is the nation's largest provider of power wheelchairs and scooters. "It is our hope that our contribution can help fight Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that strikes so many good people across the United States. Under our Gift of Mobility program, we are presenting a power wheelchair or scooter to a local resident at every concert. With these gifts, we hope to bring freedom and independence to seniors and people living with disabilities who do not have the resources or insurance coverage for mobility equipment."

Mr. Harrison noted that he and his wife, Suzanna, started the Gift of Mobility program in December 2002. Since its inception, the outreach program has worked with organizations around the world to donate more than $200,000 per year in power wheelchairs and scooters and manual wheelchairs to community service organizations enabling them to provide freedom, independence and personal integrity to those with limited mobility.

"We are pleased to have The SCOOTER Store as a chief sponsor," Mr. Neal said. "They have joined us in the battle against MS. We appreciate their participation, and their generous plan to donate a power wheelchair or scooter at each concert. They are exemplifying what it means to be a Good Corporate Citizen in America."

At each of the concerts, Mr. Neal is joined by the biggest names in southern gospel and folk music such as The Hoppers, The Isaacs, The Perrys, Brian Free and Assurance, Karen Peck, Candy Christmas, Barbara North, Connie Strange and New River along with many others.
