ExpertPlan Grows 40% and Wins Award in 2006 - '07 Expansion Already Underway
2006 was a particularly good year for ExpertPlan, a leading provider of private-label recordkeeping solutions to the retirement plan industry. The Internet-based company, under the direction of new CEO Julian Onorato, grew the amount of assets serviced by more than 40% to over $2 billion, increased the number of participants by 30% and added 12 new private label partners, including the rapidly growing Social(k) retirement platform. In addition, in October, ExpertPlan was awarded the Philadelphia 100® award which honors the fastest growing, privately-held companies in the Greater Philadelphia region.

The Internet-based company, under the direction of new CEO Julian Onorato, grew the amount of assets serviced by more than 40% to over $2 billion, increased the number of participants by 30% and added 12 new private label partners, including the rapidly growing Social(k) retirement platform. In addition, in October, ExpertPlan was awarded the Philadelphia 100® award which honors the fastest growing, privately-held companies in the Greater Philadelphia region.
One of the primary causes of the impressive growth was that ExpertPlan was chosen by Sentinel Administrative Services, Inc., a member of the National Life Group, to serve as the preferred provider to a block of more than 320 small-and mid-sized 401(k) plans, representing assets under management in excess of $115 million.
Onorato, formerly President and COO, officially took the titles of CEO and Chairman on January 1st, 2007. Prior to joining ExpertPlan, he was Senior Vice President of Operations, Client and Technical Services for ADP Retirement Solutions. In early February 2007, Onorato hired Gregory Hyde as Executive Vice President of Business Development. Hyde, formerly Vice President and Director of Group Retirement Plans at Sentinel Financial Services, will concentrate on expansion of business with payroll firms and insurance companies and assist with an aggressive acquisition strategy.
Onorato plans to expand ExpertPlan's labor force and increase its presence in the payroll sector. "We are a strong company internally, with the best technology and know-how in the industry, and we are now ready to take the next step into new arenas," he said.
To assist in the expansion, Joseph P. Cucchiaro has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Administrative Operations and Michael Rizzo has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Information Technology.
