The ex-producer «t.A.T.u.» Ivan Shapovalov became the co-owner of Mp3search.ru.

(PRWEB) February 17, 2007 -- Music producer Ivan Shapovalov, known worldwide owing to the activities with the group "t.A.T.u.", declared in his interview to the magazine Forbes on his involvement in the Internet-project MP3Search.ru, selling music on-line. Having become the co-owner of mp3search.ru , Ivan plans to launch the centre of the non-produceable music "Ledokol" ("Ice-breaker"), which according to the project author's idea will give the opportunity for selling the music of independent music performers via Internet, in particular, via the well-known on-line shop. Ivan Shapovalov: "It is not always reasonable to operate with producers' centres on the terms of direct Internet-sales, whose rates quite often are really exorbitant. Moreover, not all musicians create music for the sake of money and they are not willing to be involved in the complicated show-business activities. Just simply to sell their music -- why not? In this case we should not forget that direct on-line music sales allow yielding much more money. For example, we pay 50 percent from turnover contrary to the producer's 14 percent, as we do not incur huge administrative and promotion expenses."

Mp3search is one of the largest and most well-known on-line-shops selling mp3 compositions. The project was established in 1999 by a group of Russian students and initially was considered by the founders to be the system for seeking free music files in Internet network. By 2004 Mp3search became one of the most commercially successful project in Runtene. The number of visitors has achieved 100.000 per day; many large Russian and Western companies repeatedly tries to purchase the music resource. In 2006 in view of the owners' change the site activities were temporary suspended. On 22 September 2006 the resource was launched once again having been subject to the serious technical and content modifications.
