BitLeap Launches Open Source Blog

BitLeap announces DevBlog, its new developer blog for the open source community.

Carlisle, PA (PRWEB) February 19, 2007 - BitLeap, LLC today announced BitLeap DevBlog, its new developer blog for the open source community - http://www.bitleap.com/blog/.

BitLeap's LeapServ® backup and recovery network appliances and remote backup service are Linux-based and rely on a range of open source applications.

The Gentoo Linux distro lies at the heart of the LeapServ, remotely managing thousands of servers on remote networks, while modified RDBMS's MYSQL and PostgreSQL are used for storing and retrieving hundreds of millions of records of customer's data. See BitLeap's open source page for more details on how BitLeap integrates open source software in development.

BitLeap co-founder and founder of the popular Cacti open source project, Ian Berry says the company is committed to the open source community and to the open source philosophy of sharing.

"We are dedicated to the open source community and to helping others create and use open source applications. BitLeap's new DevBlog provides us with the opportunity to share our thoughts, code contributions and patches."
