New Contest to Discover Dogs Who Found Their Purpose in Life

Although humans read and write about finding purpose, and millions seek it, best-selling animal book authors Allen and Linda Anderson have a theory that dogs serve as some of the planet's best teachers for how to be more fulfilled.

Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) February 20, 2007 -- Although humans read and write about finding purpose, and millions seek it, best-selling animal book authors Allen and Linda Anderson have a theory that dogs serve as some of the planet's best teachers for how to be more fulfilled. As they have done with previous anthologies in their popular Angel Animals series, the Andersons are sponsoring a contest to help them find true stories for possible publication in their upcoming book, Angel Dogs at Work: Divine Messengers Who Found Their Life's Purpose (New World Library, September 2008). Complete contest rules and entry form are at www.angelanimals.net/awards.html. People can write for contest rules to Angel Animals Network, Att: 2007 Angel Dogs at Work Contest, POB 26354, Minneapolis, MN 55426.

The first-place contest winner will be awarded a grand prize of $250. An additional five, second-place contest winners will be awarded $25.00. There is no entry fee. The contest begins on February 15, 2007, and submissions must be postmarked on or prior to July 15, 2007.

Possible questions for contest entrants to answer in a maximum 2,000-word true story are:
--Do you know a dog who has found a purpose in life?
--Do you have a dog who demonstrates how fulfilling it is to have a life's purpose?
--Have you lived with a dog who performs some type of physical, emotional, or spiritual services for you or others?
--Have you had a miraculous or mystical experience with a dog who teaches others how to give without expecting a return?
--Do you have a dog who has done an act of heroism, courage, or selfless service?
--What have you learned from a dog about finding your purpose in life or that has inspired you to do something more meaningful?
--Has a dog provided an example of purpose that inspired you to find your true calling?

Allen Anderson says, "During the years since 1996, when we started collecting stories for our newsletters and books, we have been amazed at the creative ways some dogs have found for leading more fulfilling lives. Their selfless service can't be dismissed or explained by instinct or trained behavior. These dogs perform acts of kindness and heroism that stretch the boundaries of what most people think is possible. They do jobs that use their canine abilities combined with a generous nature and an eagerness to please. We believe that dogs are often instruments of divine intervention who help people grow spiritually with greater love, gratitude, and wisdom. Through the 2007 Angel Dogs at Work Contest we are looking forward to finding the very best stories on the theme of discovering life's purpose and putting them into our new book to inspire everyone."
