(PRWEB) February 21, 2007 -- SouthShore Soldiers Inc. announces the launch of its SouthShore Soldiers Brand of outerwear and street-wear clothing and accessories in February, 2007 (http://www.southshoresoldiers.com/news.html). SouthShore Soldiers Brand features hi-performance snowboard outerwear -- jackets and pants -- and snowboarding-influenced 'street-wear' apparel and accessories -- t-shirts, hoodies, thermals, pants, hats, underclothing, etc. -- for men and women.

"The SouthShore Soldiers Brand clothing lines are inspired by the needs and requirements of all levels of snowboarders. Our clothes are basic while at the same time a bit off-beat and unique. The intent is to embody the spirit of snowboarding for 'boarders as well as for those that just appreciate and admire the attitude and skill of the sport." says clothing designer, snowboarder, and S. Lake Tahoe native, Shasta Metcalfe.

Jimmy Halopoff and Rob Crosby, co-owners and co-founders of SouthShore Soldiers Camp, were encouraged to pursue production of the SouthShore Soldiers Brand clothing line by Joseph DeAscetis, fashion director for Playboy Magazine. DeAscetis and the crew from Playboy first saw clothing designed to promote SouthShore Soldiers Camp at a 2003 photoshoot on the exclusive snowboard and ski camp Soldiers' Terrain Park on Heavenly. The Playboy Magazine team liked everything so much that Playboy Magazine gave the clothing line and camp a 6-page, 4-color spread in their November 2003 issue and has included SouthShore Soldiers Brand clothing in more recent Playboy Magazine clothing guides. DeAscetis and the others encouraged Crosby, Halopoff and Metcalfe to develop the clothing lines and brand for international distribution.

Because of the Playboy Magazine coverage, a September 2005 article in Skiing Magazine, articles in Transworld Snowboarding, Ski Magazine and Snowboard Mag, (http://www.snowboard-mag.com/node/17861), as well as Bike Magazine, multiple exposures on MySpace.com (http://www.myspace.com/southshoresoldiers), coverage on YouTube.com (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeJD4S9wDiY), articles in New Schoolers.com (the ski world's online community), and a great deal of exposure on the MTV program Made, Crosby and Halopoff decided the expansion into clothing made good sense. Crosby says "The initial products were pretty basic, but the idea of gaining greater exposure for our brand, logo, name and image was hard to pass up." Crosby continues, "we got excited and inspired about Shasta's (our designer) off-beat, creative designs, especially the snowboard-influenced street-wear, and decided to move forward and carve out our brand."

Both the outerwear and full street-wear lines debuted at the Snowsports Industries America (SIA) tradeshow in Las Vegas January 21. SouthShore Soldiers Brand street-wear clothing is made locally, can be ordered/purchased by retailers immediately, and will be available in stores by early March 2007. (http://www.tahoedailytribune.com/article/20070105/NEWS/101050070) Orders for the SouthShore Soldiers Brand performance outerwear are being taken now and will be delivered to shops nationally by September, 2007.

SouthShore Soldiers Brand Clothing donates proceeds from its Mount-Up Jacket sales to the Special Forces Warrior Fund benefiting families of fallen special operations soldiers. The Mount-Up Jacket is reminiscent of the M65 Military Field Coat.

SouthShore Soldiers will build its future on this dual-focused model: the unique adult spring break snowboard and ski camp business, and also the performance outerwear and street-wear clothing lines. The SouthShore Soldiers camp recently announced its sixth consecutive camp season, with sessions running from March 18 through April 2, 2007 (http://www.southshoresoldiers.com/sessions.html).
