Hill Top Research Providing DTaP Immunization to Test New Pain-Relief Patch

Hill Top Research has recently announced the launching of a study designed to determine the effectiveness of a pain-relief patch treatment used prior to receiving routine childhood immunizations. Such immunizations are usually a point of anxiety for both parents and children alike; most of the angst is due to the anticipated pain associated with intramuscular injections. The marketed test patch contains two ingredients to numb the skin, lidocaine and tetracaine, and is applied to the skin before the immunization.

Miamiville, OH (PRWEB) February 22, 2007 -- Hill Top Research, located at 6699 13th Ave N in St. Petersburg, FL and 3225 N 75th St in Scottsdale, AZ, has recently announced the launching of a study designed to determine the effectiveness of a pain-relief patch treatment used prior to receiving routine childhood immunizations. Such immunizations are usually a point of anxiety for both parents and children alike; most of the angst is due to the anticipated pain associated with intramuscular injections. The marketed test patch contains two ingredients to numb the skin, lidocaine and tetracaine, and is applied to the skin before the immunization.

Hill Top Research is seeking children, 4-6 years of age, to participate in this single-visit study. Children and their caregivers will provide feedback about the effectiveness of the product and assess the product's ability to reduce pain. In order to evaluate the numbing patch, children will each receive a standard DTaP immunization. Hill Top Research will perform a brief physical exam by a medical doctor, similar to a well-child visit, then provide the booster shot, all at no cost. In addition, families will be compensated $40 for time and travel.

Due to the nature of the study, they are looking for those children who have not yet received this scheduled pre-school booster. Hill Top Research needs your assistance in notifying parents of this study opportunity; attached is a flyer for posting and distributing to parents who may be interested in participating in this research study.

Hill Top Research is currently scheduling appointments throughout the month of February.

Interested parents can contact the Hill Top Research Study Information Center at 800-874-7550 for more information.
