U2 Tribute Band Vertigo USA "Hustles Up The Hancock" with American Lung Association

The OfficeMax Hustle Up The Hancock, Feb 25, is one of the most popular stair climbs in the United States. Registration for the sold-out 2007 event opened and closed within 31 minutes in November. Hustle will raise more than $1,000,000 to support research and education programs of the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago. U2 Tribute band, Vertigo USA performs at the post climb expo for the second straight year.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 23, 2007 -- Over 4,000 firefighters, lung cancer survivors, former smokers, lung-transplant patients, people with asthma and weekend athletes will climb the 94-floors of the John Hancock Center on Sunday, February 25 in a fundraiser to benefit research programs of the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago.

The 10th annual OfficeMax Hustle Up the Hancock, Chicago's most popular stair climb, will also include 237 firefighters running in memory of those lost in the World Trade Center disaster.

Steve Ferkau, a double-lung transplant recipient, who received the lungs of Kari Westberg, a 17-year old volleyball star, will be leading a team of 90 including friends and relatives of Kari. The heartwarming story is depicted at www.climbingforkari.org.

Terry Purcell, an Australian living in Springfield, Illinois, has been the fastest climber five years running. In 2006 he set a blistering pace by bounding the 1,632 steps to the 94th floor Hancock Observatory in a record 9 minutes, 39 seconds, taking less than 6.2 seconds per floor.

Climbers will enjoy a post-climb party at the nearby Hilton Suites Chicago, live music from the U2 tribute band Vertigo USA, goody bags and entry into The Hancock Observatory. This is the second straight year Vertigo USA provides the post climb entertainment.

Vertigo USA is a Chicago based, Internationally touring U2 Tribute show.
Vertigo USA was selected 15 times by OTX, U2's tour operator for the '06/'07 U2 world tour, to perform at VIP events including the tour finale in Hawaii December 2006.

A group of 36 'elite' climbers will kick off the Hancock assault and volunteers will be on hand to dispense 3,500 bananas and 393 gallons of water. Almost $4 million has been raised for lung research and educational programs since the climb's inception.
