San Diego Fertility Center Announces Teacher has Baby via IVF Treatment Paid by Her Students' Parents
A San Diego teacher has a baby via IVF treatment paid by parents in her 1st grade class.
(PRWEB) February 26, 2007 -- Selfless acts of kindness are everywhere when we take a moment to look around. The San Diego Fertility Center sees them on a daily basis. A recent and very memorable example of altruism began when a couple came to Dr. Hummel and received help from a very unexpected source. A dedicated teacher and her husband, who struggled with unexplained infertility for years, had almost given up on having a child. The couple desperately tried to save enough money in order to try to conceive a child through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
One of the parents of a student in the teacher’s class found out about the couple’s desperate wish and contacted the San Diego Fertility Center’s Financial Coordinator, Kim Carnevale. The person, who identified herself as a friend of the teacher, wanted to anonymously pay for the IVF treatment of this special teacher. The beneficiary couple soon had their initial appointment at the San Diego Fertility Center, during which they heard the good news that the payment for their treatment was a gift. "We felt totally blessed when we heard the good news," comments the teacher. "We are still in complete shock." After this long journey the couple was pregnant. To this day, the couple doesn’t know who gave them such an amazing and generous gift. They asked Dr. Hummel to forward a "Thank You" letter to the anonymous sponsor.
We are happy to announce that these patients had a beautiful baby girl on June 8 2006, thanks to the generosity of someone who recognized the value of a teacher in their child’s life. "The donation family is still in our daily prayers and we hope that one day, we too can help out another family like they have done for us.
