Best-Selling Author Dr. Ed Gordon to Headline Seminar for Small to Midsize Enterprises

The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, today announced the latest addition to its signature Innovation Tours, an ongoing series of talent management learning and networking events held in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States and Canada. Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 24, 2007 -- The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, today announced the latest addition to its signature Innovation Tours, an ongoing series of talent management learning and networking events held in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States and Canada. The tour will launch in Washington, D.C. on March 27, with a second session in Atlanta on March 29th. The events, which include a continental breakfast and opportunity for networking, take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ET.

Keynote speaker at the event will be best-selling writer, researcher, speaker, and consultant Dr. Edward Gordon, President of Imperial Consulting Corporation, who will begin the two-part program with a presentation of the latest data on the forces behind "war for talent" issues. The program includes real-world case studies of how successful companies find, develop, and leverage human capital to achieve better performance results and greater profits.

Following the initial presentation, Dr. Gordon will moderate a panel discussion featuring thought leaders who will share their diverse perspectives on the talent management challenges small to midsize organization face, and the best ways to overcome them. The panel will include a consultant who works with small-to-midsize companies, a technologist who will share how small-to-midsize companies can use the Internet to find the best talent, and a corporate practitioner with a real world example.

Ed Gordon brings more than 30 years experience to his work as consultant. An expert on training, career, and education issues, Gordon has assisted many varied clients, including: Microsoft; PricewaterhouseCoopers; Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal; Motorola; MetraRail; the Jacksonville Community Council; the American Institute for Research; the U.S. Department of Education and Labor; state agencies of California, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, as well as universities, school systems, non-profit organizations, and trade and professional associations.

He is the author or coauthor of 15 books, including "The 2010 Meltdown" and "FutureWork." Frequently quoted in articles, Gordon is also sought after by television and radio and has been featured by CNN, CBS, NBC, Bloomberg TV, NPR, and USA Radio, among other information outlets.

Dr. Edward Gordon has taught courses in business, education, and history for 20 years at three Chicago-area universities: DePaul, Loyola, and Northwestern. He holds a Ph.D. in History/Psychology from Loyola University and an M.A. in History from DePaul University.
