SharePoint Solutions Releases Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007

SharePoint Solutions has released a new product that helps SharePoint 2007 users collaborate more effectively with individuals outside their organizations. Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007 improves collaboration by providing partners, customers and suppliers with access to important information while still maintaining security, audit ability and accountability.

Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) February 26, 2007 -- SharePoint Solutions, a national leader in Microsoft SharePoint training, consulting and add-on software, has released a new product that helps SharePoint 2007 users collaborate more effectively with individuals outside their organizations.

Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007 improves collaboration by providing partners, customers and suppliers with access to important information while still maintaining security, audit ability and accountability.

While SharePoint 2007 provides many of the raw capabilities necessary for extranet collaboration, it lacks critical tools that SharePoint administrators need to establish, maintain and monitor the collaboration environment, according to Jeff Cate, founder and president of SharePoint Solutions.

"SharePoint has proven to be an outstanding tool for companies to take teamwork and collaboration to a new level. However, it has been designed to work easiest inside the firewall of a company," Cate said.

He noted that through SharePoint Solution's students and consulting clients, he and his colleagues have seen that it is much more difficult to make SharePoint's collaboration capabilities available to vendors and customers for use in extranet collaboration.

Yet, there is at least as much need for collaboration on the extranet as on the intranet.

"With the new version of SharePoint, SharePoint 2007, Microsoft has opened up new possibilities for third parties to provide add-ons that will extranet-enable the product. Having studied this business need for the past three years, we feel we are uniquely qualified to provide our solution, Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007," Cate said.

Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007 simplifies the provisioning and maintenance of extranet SharePoint sites for use with business partners. It enables companies to delegate user maintenance and management tasks to business partners while still providing the capability to monitor and audit their activities within their collaborative environments.

Partner activities are easily tracked and supervised by line-of-business staff members without depending upon or waiting for costly IT resources.

The standard version of Extranet Collaboration Manager for SharePoint 2007 sells for $1,495 per Web front-end server. For more information, visit http://software.sharepointsolutions.com or call Tony Bierman at 615.944-1544.
