Ocean Blue Announces Multi-Mode Software to Handle Digital and Analogue TV

The new multi-mode software provides a single solution for consumer electronics manufacturers, reducing development time and software costs.
The new Sunrise software suite supports DVB-S, DVB-T and DVB-C digital TV in addition to analogue TV. Pay per view conditional access (CA) systems and a common interface (CI) for plug in media cards is also supported.
Consumer electronics vendors have previously required two software products on board - one for digital and one for analogue. This slowed development time and could provide a clumsy user interface.
With Ocean Blue's software, channel tuning for analogue and digital is accomplished through the same user interface, giving consumers a common look and feel across multiple broadcast mediums. It will also assist the consumer with an easy dual set up process for idtvs via one single user interface.
The multi-mode software is based on Ocean Blue's Sunrise product and includes Sunrise (DVB-T & S), additional software plug ins are Surfsoft PVR (Freeview Playback compatible) and Voyager MHEG-5 & DSMCC middleware software. This provides comprehensive support for music, video, TV, High Definition TV, images, text and the data necessary for a hybrid IPTV set top box. It also provides support for conditional access and pay-per-view security systems.
Technical Information.
Ocean Blue's Voyager software system MHEG-5 & DSM-CC is the result of a more than 10 man-year development project and is fully tested and in production.. The MHEG-5 & DSM-CC software was developed in the standard C programming language and is thus portable to many different operating systems and hardware computing platforms.
Ocean Blue's Sunrise is a suite of integrated software products, which provides all the functionality for receiving digital video & audio on digital set top boxes and televisions.
Ocean Blue's Surfsoft (a Freeview Playback standard version is available) system software is a content management systems that has been saved on a hard disk-based digital TV device. Surfsoft's many features and functions include time shift, trick modes, search, retrieve, save, record, timed recording and pause.
