effectiveUI presents eBay® "San Dimas Project" Case Study at D×3 Conference & Expo

Case study explores process of building desktop prototype application using Adobe Flash, Flex, and Apollo.

Ojai, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2007 -- lynda.com events premieres Allen Ellison and effectiveUI's latest project at the D×3 Conference & Expo in Boston, May 15-18, 2007. Ellison will showcase effectiveUI's recently completed project for eBay in which they used Adobe® Flex™ and Adobe Flash® with a pre-release version of Apollo, Adobe's next-generation technology for developing rich Internet applications for the desktop, to create a highly dynamic application that could be used online or offline, as a desktop application, or through a web browser.

"Allen Ellison will share an under-the-hood look at what makes the eBay desktop application tick," said Lynda Weinman, CEO, lynda.com events. "This is an opportunity to see, hear, and learn about the challenges and solutions deploying a brand new platform and delivering a brand new application -- one that delivers a new way to search, compare, and save interesting eBay items."

The eBay desktop application was designed in Adobe Fireworks® and developed using Adobe Flex 2.0. It is deployed using a pre-release version of Adobe's Apollo, and accesses eBay data and business logic through open source ActionScript classes designed to work with the eBay API. The project included interface design and Flex/Apollo development.
"effectiveUI's team was contracted to help eBay turn their vision into reality," said Allen Ellison, managing partner, effectiveUI. "As an evangelist, the Dx3 Conference is an opportunity to share a real example -- with all its challenges -- of an innovative new approach that meets consumers needs."
