Mommy-invented MyPacifier™ Personalized Pacifiers are celebrating their one-year anniversary of an event-filled first year of spectacular growth in the USA. One year ago today, the company that invented personalized pacifiers opened shop in America with their online store, MyPacifier.com. The invention came about when a young mother in Denmark experienced "the pacifier problem." Pia Callesen, the Danish mother and creator of MyPacifier, says "When I went to day care to pick up my son Frederik, more often than not I found that his pacifier had disappeared and Frederik had another child's pacifier in his mouth. I began searching for a pacifier product with a name on it, but I got the same answer in all the shops, 'buy a permanent marker pen and write his name on the pacifier.' Pia Callesen went on to invent the personalized pacifier, something she thought was sorely needed for mothers everywhere. MyPacifier.com has gotten attention beyond satisfied parents and babies during its first year. A MyPacifier Party was held in April of 2006 to announce the new product to the USA market. Dozens of parents brought their babies to a popular lakeside park in Fremont, California, to get complimentary MyPacifiers with their babies names already imprinted on them. In exchange, MyPacifier.com gained a wealth of photographs of the cute babies testing out their new MyPacifiers. The Fremont Argus newspaper featured the event shortly thereafter with a large photo of one of the babies, which was the first press attention for MyPacifier.com in the USA.

Attention quickly grew to the national spotlight. That same month, MyPacifiers were shown on national television on The Tony Danza Show when Tony Danza proudly put his grandson Nicholas on the show with a MyPacifier in his mouth. Audience members oohed and ahhed and asked Danza where he got them.

MyPacifier.com was then invited to take part in Madison and Mulholland's Ultimate Nominee Gift Bags. Madison & Mulholland, the premier VIP gift bag and product placement company based in New York City, prepared Ultimate TV Nominee Bags for Emmy attendees like Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and the rest of the 'Desperate Housewives'; Sandra Oh and other 'Grey's Anatomy' residents; several 'Lost' castaways, Hugh Laurie, Adrian Grenier and 24's Kiefer Sutherland. MyPacifier.com was invited to be in the gift bags because Madison & Mulholland searches for the latest unique products that will bring about "oohs and ahhs" from the receiving Emmy nominees.

The Ultimate Nominee Gift Bags led to even more Hollywood attention when MyPacifier.com participated in the first-ever charity event held on the Universal Studios Wisteria Lane set for one of television's hottest shows, "Desperate Housewives." PADRES Contra El Cáncer, a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, held their annual El Sueño de Esperanza (Dream of Hope) Gala on September 6, 2006. PADRES National Spokesperson and Event Chair, Eva Longoria, welcomed celebrity guests and industry executives to the "Desperate Housewives" Wisteria Lane set at Universal Studios, Hollywood for the black-tie fundraiser. MyPacifier.com collected autographs on a framed poster of the company's official personalized pacifier test baby, Mason Redmond. Celebrities that signed the one of a kind poster include: George Lopez, comedian and star of TV; Mario Lopez, star of "Saved by the Bell" and "Dancing with the Stars"; Adrian Bellani, star of TV's "Passions" series; Brenda Strong, Joy Lauren and Andrea Bowen of "Desperate Housewives"; Matthew Underwood and Victoria Justice, stars of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101"; Carlos Mencia, comedian; Marion Ramsey, from "Police Academy'; Denise Rich, songwriter and well-known socialite; Dick Van Patten from "Eight is Enough"; James Van Patten, TV and movie star; Cristina Pérez of "Cristina's Court"; Corina Villaraigosa, wife of L.A.'s mayor; Katrina Smirnoff of "Dancing with the Stars" and others! The poster was auctioned off online and MyPacifier donated 100% of the winning bid went to PADRES Contra El Cáncer.

In late fall of 2006, Orca Communications of Phoenix, Arizona invited MyPacifier.com to be part of their annual Best Products Media Guide. This honor rewarded MyPacifier.com with much national and local exposure through several venues including Parenting.com, the website of America's #1 parent magazine. Orca continues to represent MyPacifier.com in 2007 and is currently beginning a six-business exclusive Fabulous Female Entrepreneurs campaign featuring MyPacifiers.

In January of 2007 MyPacifiers got even more exposure to the American public when Costco Connection Magazine published an article on the Pedersens and their pacifiers in their Member Connection segment.
