Premier Blog Directory Announces New Paid Search Designed to Boost Blogger's Blog Traffic

BlogCatalog.com creates system to help bloggers more easily and effectively showcase their blogs to their ideal audience and drive more traffic to their blogs.

(PRWEB) March 1, 2007 -- BlogCatalog, the premier blog directory, today announced that it has created a paid results product for bloggers to boost traffic. The new system provides bloggers with the ability to pay for premium spots in BlogCatalog's category search results. This change is part of major transformations going on at BlogCatalog, since its recent acquisition by SiteProPlus.com.

According to Angelica Alaniz, CEO and Marketing Guru of BlogCatalog, "we have added some really strong features to the directory including improved search functionality and an enhanced ranking algorithm that has started to drive the most relevant blogs to the top of the search results."

BlogCatalog, it seems, is making the right moves. Traffic during the past month has increased by well over 100% and click throughs to blogs have more than quadrupled. The paid premium search program is designed to keep this momentum going.

"For bloggers and website owners, traffic is the life-blood of their online existence," says Tony Berkman director of BlogCatalog's future vision group. "Because it isn't always easy for blogs to get traffic, BlogCatalog's mission is to drive quality, volume traffic to our subscribers. In order to get quality traffic, though, we clearly get that BlogCatalog has to serve up highly relevant search results. The formula is simple. The more relevant the results, the more traffic we can drive to bloggers."

The team at BlogCatalog believes that paid search results are a terrific value to new bloggers and those bloggers who have struggled getting traffic to their blog. The system enables bloggers to quickly gain great exposure. And because premium paid placements only show up in relevant category results it means that people are more likely to click through to a premium placed blog. What this really means to bloggers is that BlogCatalog now hands them an opportunity to easily and effectively showcase their blogs to their ideal audience.

Based on what we are seeing, BlogCatalog appears to be well on its way to achieving its primary goal, to become the "best in breed" blog search engine. BlogCatalog's "Idea Manifesto," which is in plain view to everyone in the office, makes their ambitions clear. The Manifesto provides, "We are an idea driven organization. The best ideas from whatever source will triumph at BlogCatalog. This will guarantee that BlogCatalog obtains a preeminent position in the blogosphere."

Whatever the future holds for BlogCatalog, one certain thing is that if you visit BlogCatalog.com you will find a quality selection of interesting and often times entertaining blogs.
