National Write-a-Letter of Appreciation Week, March 1-7, 2007 DayTimers Stationery Always Says the 'Write' Thing

According to a recent DayTimers 2007 Letter Writing Survey, respondents sending handwritten communication were clear about their intentions. Seventy-five percent felt that a handwritten note is more personal, friendly, and intimate and that it allows expression of feelings. Seventy-two percent felt that a handwritten note shows a special effort to communicate. While 51% said they liked using attractive stationery to make a statement beyond just the words they put on the page. And almost 1/2 of the respondents (48%) said they loved to write with a pen and paper.

Lehigh Valley, PA (PRWEB) March 1, 2007 -- Over half the participants (51%) in the DayTimers 2007 Letter Writing Survey, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation, noted that they like using attractive stationery when writing letters and notes for business or personal use because it makes a statement beyond just the words on the page.

National Write a Letter of Appreciation Week is March 1-7, 2007. Approximately 86% of the respondents to this telephone survey said they had chosen to send a handwritten personal letter or a business note in the past year rather than other means of communication, including electronic. Seventy-five percent said written communication is more personal, friendly and intimate, allowing them to better express their feelings. Seventy-two percent felt it shows a special effort to communicate.

"Appreciation letters, especially those handwritten on special stationery, have become rare in this day of electronic communication; but it is for that exact reason they are so highly regarded," commented Maria Woytek, DayTimers Time Management Expert. "It's a pleasant surprise to receive a hand-written note. In this age of fast paced, electronic communication, we are hungry for a high-touch connection with others. The handwritten word does that for us."

Appreciation letters are one of the most important forms of communication, according to www.writeexpress.com, because they provide a positive opportunity to communicate at significant times--whether to say "thank you," encourage or acknowledge an achievement, compliment or praise a speaker or leader of an organization, or simply to express personal sentiments.

DayTimers offers an assortment of stationery suitable for a variety of correspondence - all designed to be noticed, and cherished.
The Paisley Correspondence Cards convey a contemporary and exotic look, an elegant vehicle for the written word. The thick, quality paper stock features a captivating paisley border, available in blue or sea green.

The Personalized Imprinted Memo Cards with Imprint feature crisp, classic white cards that can be personalized with not only a name, but also a design imprint that best suits the sender. The fun imprint options include a cat, beach chair, palm tree, high-heeled shoe, flip-flops, heart, golf icon, scroll, purse, dog, butterfly, Christmas tree, snowman and Star of David.

The DayTimers Earth Tone Memo and Correspondence Cards come in ten soothing earth tone colors. Notes take on a special significance when written on this vellum memo paper.

"It's not surprising that so many people find hand-written letters on special stationery to be such an attractive form of communication," concluded Ms. Woytek. "Many people really enjoy the ambiance of writing with a pen and paper. In fact, nearly 1/2 of the respondents to our survey mentioned this fact," Ms. Woytek remarked.

Even when using hand-written communication, it is possible to be progressive with the Yoropen, the pen of the future. The angled pen supports fingers, eliminating pressure and writing strain. It writes in a black medium point that leaves a clean, impressive print.
DayTimers offers many exciting writing tools for the paper and pen enthusiast.

Appreciation letters, especially those handwritten on special stationery, have become rare in this day of electronic communication; but it is for that exact reason they are so highly regarded
