Internationally Recognized Contemporary Expressionist Painter debuts his Limited Women’s Wear Collection at the Mar-A-Lago Club of Palm Beach

I travel the globe in search of the most important twentieth century masterworks for my Paris gallery and it’s rare that I get a chance to see emerging art, but when I do, I am constantly reminded of how little I care for it

Laurance Rassin, Internationally recognized contemporary expressionist painter, today announced he will debut his collection of women’s wear, alongside new works on canvas, Persian tapestry and ceramics at the Palm Beach International Fashion Week opening night gala at the Mar-A-Lago club of Palm Beach. The March 2 event will benefit Alzheimer’s Community Care center of Palm Beach County - a participating United Way agency.

On the grounds of the historic Mar-A-Lago estate, Manhattan based artist Laurance Rassin will debut his strikingly beautiful collection of bold print scarves, tops, skirts, dresses and other women’s wearables based on his designs in his Persian tapestries and canvases.

“In the world of high-fashion there is a strong desire to produce unique clothing concepts; that’s why I decided to create a fashionable women’s collection – something I like to refer to as ‘paintings in action,’” said Laurance Rassin. “It’s really exciting to be able to showcase my line of contemporary clothing alongside legendary designers such as Pucci®, Escada® and St. Johns® at an event as prestigious as Palm Beach International Fashion Week. Even the master of ceremonies, Mr. Donald Trump is making a world debut of his men’s suits. This should be some evening.”

“I travel the globe in search of the most important twentieth century masterworks for my Paris gallery and it’s rare that I get a chance to see emerging art, but when I do, I am constantly reminded of how little I care for it,” said Laurent de Pass of Galerie Du XXe in Paris, France. “Yet, there is one American artist that I have met who breaks clean from this often banal scene – Laurance Rassin. His canvasses are the best combination of old and new school in a distinctive new wave of great contemporary expressionism.”

The Palm Beach Fashion Week kickoff at Mar-A-Lago will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007 from 6:30PM to 11:00PM. Mar-A-Lago is located on 1100 South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach, Florida.
