Veriphy Hospitals List Grows to 125; Top-rated Children's Hospital Among Latest to Embrace CTRM

The nation's top-rated pediatric hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is among the latest hospitals to embrace Veriphy, Vocada's solution for critical test result management (CTRM). The number of hospitals across the country that have selected Veriphy for CTRM now totals 125, compared to 50 a year ago.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 2, 2007 -- The nation's top-rated pediatric hospital, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is among the latest hospitals to embrace Veriphy, Vocada's solution for critical test result management (CTRM).

The number of hospitals across the country that have selected Veriphy for CTRM now totals 125, compared to 50 a year ago. In addition to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the list now includes:
- Lakeland Regional Medical Center (Florida)
- San Ramon Regional Medical Center (California)
- Wishard Health Services (Indianapolis)
- Bon Secours St. Francis Health System (South Carolina)
- University of Colorado Hospital (Denver)

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is the top-rated pediatric hospital in the nation, based on reputation among experts in the field, according to a survey by US News & World Report magazine.

CTRM is a technology-based pathway to automate and manage the closed-loop communication of critical and urgent patient findings. Veriphy by Vocada, Inc. is the market-leading CTRM solution. Veriphy replaces manual systems, which typically are inefficient, inconsistent, and error-prone. Veriphy simultaneously enhances patient safety, improves patient outcomes, and boosts staff productivity.

Thomas White, executive vice president and co-founder of Vocada, said the growing list of Veriphy customers indicates how CTRM is taking hold in the hospital industry.

"Hospitals are beginning to see that CTRM delivers demonstrable and measurable improvements in patient safety and staff productivity, and that our solution makes it easy and affordable to implement," White said. "We expect continued growth, especially as clinical labs see the value of automating the process of communicating critical values."

Radiologists have led the way in adopting CTRM, but the Clinical Labs are beginning to embrace it, as well. In March, Vocada will make its first appearance at the annual meeting of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA). At the event, Vocada will introduce the newest version of Veriphy, designed specifically for Clinical Labs.

To communicate a critical or urgent patient finding using Veriphy, a reporting clinician, such as a radiologist, simply creates a critical result message using a phone or PACS computer and Veriphy does the rest:
- Actively notifies the ordering clinician that a critical or urgent result is pending;
- Continues to send alerts until the message is retrieved;
- Escalates, if necessary, automatically;
- Verifies to the reporting clinician that the message has been received;
- Tracks and monitors the communication trail;
- Documents the communication process;
- Stores the original message and record in a searchable archive for years;
- Automates compliance with the Joint Commission National Patient Safety goal for critical result communication.

In addition, Veriphy provides hospital managers and administrators with a web-based window on performance in real time. This enables managers to see how well or how poorly a department or individual physician is performing in terms of communication turnaround times.

Vocada, Inc.
Vocada's Veriphy critical test result management solution is the only enterprise solution for communicating critical test results from hospital diagnostic departments to ordering clinicians. Using a patented, hosted system, Veriphy automates and verifies communication of critical test results in a real-time, assured and trackable solution, simultaneously enhancing patient safety and boosting clinical staff productivity. The privately held, Dallas-based company was founded by brothers Peter and Thomas White, who were previously involved with other innovative and successful technology ventures. The company introduced its first product, VoiceLink, predecessor to Veriphy, in 2004. For more information, visit http://www.vocada.com .
