New Book Reveals Dynamics for Emotional Healing

Emotional Survival addresses the profound impact that our family, society, and troubled world have on the way we think and feel.

Baltimore County, Maryland (PRWEB) March 3, 2007 -- Emotional Survival, Dr. Christina Strakes' new book, provides a unique and captivating analysis of man's psyche by exploring the profound impact that personal relationships, a complex society, and a troubled world have in shaping or shattering one's inner sense of self-worth and emotional security.

Dr. Strakes, who received her Ph.D. from Columbia University, believes that far too many self-help books are reduced to such an elementary level they offer little or no help to the more educated and introspective reader. Refusing to pander to pop-psychology's "quick fix" mentality, Dr. Strakes compiles her own observations along with the wisest and most insightful thinking of some of the world's highest honored and renowned psychologists. Until now, their collective wisdom has never been brought together in any literary work.

In warm, conversational and captivating prose, Emotional Survival examines the emotional wounds that result in loss of hope, lack of trust, pervasive feelings of loneliness, and most importantly of all, inability to love or be loved. In short, it is a book written for those who have been hurt by love and life.
