iGov Promotes Tyrrell to President & COO

To manage the increased scope of its systems integration business with the federal government, iGov has promoted Michael Tyrrell to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer.

McLEAN, Va. (PRWEB) March 5, 2007 -- To manage the increased scope of its systems integration business with the federal government, iGov has promoted Michael Tyrrell to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer (COO).
   
Having served as chief financial officer (CFO) since 2005, Tyrrell has been a driving force behind the company's restructuring to help strike the right balance between providing technological solutions to its government customers and continuing its commitments to hardware suppliers and vendor partners. The end result of the effort has been a significant increase in contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and other civilian agencies.

A longtime member of the technology community, Tyrrell was with In-Q-Tel (http:..www.in-q-tel.com) prior to joining iGov. As CFO at the venture capital arm of the intelligence community, he managed $40 million in annual funding and helped In-Q-Tel close nearly 40 investment deals during a three year period. Other career highlights include leading a successful restructuring and sale of KTI Network Solutions, where he served as CFO, to what is now Perot Systems, and the sale of QuesTech to CACI (http://www.caci.com), which resulted in a 200 percent increase in share price while averting a hostile takeover attempt by another company. In addition, as the director of corporate development at QuesTech, Tyrrell directed all strategic planning and helped the company increase revenues by nearly 80 percent over a three-year period.
   
Tyrrell is well credentialed with an MBA in finance from George Mason University, a master's degree in Telecommunications from Syracuse University, a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Scranton, and a CPA license. He also is a Fellow at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
