The enhancement is dramatic yet simple: InsureMe has put the consumer in the driver's seat and allowed them to choose which of their matched agents they'd like to receive insurance quotes from.
While the actual matching process hasn't changed, the InsureMe company found that allowing shoppers to more actively participate in the quote process helps them feel more in control--providing a more positive experience overall and making the consumer more apt to purchase a new policy.
The effect on InsureMe's agent base has been a positive one, said in-house Statistician Peter Deusterman. "Most carriers are picked between 90%-95% of the time they're presented to the consumer," noted Deusterman. In the last 30 days, consumer-agent selection rate was just under 93%.
Combined with the fact that the agent only pays for the lead when selected, the new enhancement can have a direct impact on an insurance professional's bottom line.
"The numbers tell us that a more positive shopping experience better positions our agents to close the sale," said Lori Reed, InsureMe director of marketing. "The bottom line here is that companies can't continue to shove consumers through the sales funnel and expect them to be happy or eager to buy. Times are changing and we are too."
